BERNARD LEE WAH TOH
Bernard’s current portfolio in 11street.my (Celcom Planet Sdn. Bhd. – a JV Company between SK Planet & Celcom Axiata) would be formulating a monetization roadmap for the new advertising business unit and creating a blueprint for the content management strategy in 11street Malaysia. His other primary task for this role is to lead and grow a new business division (Seller & Strategic Business Division) to support the sellers’ development growth, to increase their competency in the e-Commerce marketplace and the online commerce ecosystem in Malaysia.
Together with his team, they have launched the first online sellers’ academy in Malaysia called the 11street Academy which is currently endorsed by SME Corp., MDEC, Google and Facebook. At this juncture, he is overseeing a total number of 28 headcounts with 4 direct reports which spreads across the Seller Management, Seller Development, Advertising and Content Management department.
Bernard’s recognition goes beyond the organization as he was invited as a panel speaker at numerous eCommerce seminar and conferences event such as the SITEC SEA E-Commerce Conference 2016; EPF ISSC Future of Work Conference 2017; CIMB BEST Public Seminar 2017; Selangor Smart City & Future Commerce Convention 2017; Exabytes E-Commerce Conference 2017; Malaysian Real Estate Convention 2017; and the iRetail World Asia Conference in Singapore October 2013 just to name a few.
Prior to his current role, he was the Head of Classified Sales for Mudah.my, one of the leading digital media platform, a technology driven organization and the largest on-line classifieds marketplace in Malaysia. Together with his key management team, Bernard has lead several monetization and product improvement projects to cater for the emerging trends and leverages on the Big Data analysis. Also, during his stint at mudah.my, he and his sales team had managed to create several significant milestones and over-achieved their annual sales target (Classified Sales Business Division) for two consecutive years in FY14 & FY15.
With his passion in sharing his thoughts and knowledge in the digital landscape, he is currently appointed as one of the pro-bono speaker/trainer for the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) – Negotiators Certification Course (NCC) program designed for real estate negotiators and agents. He was also one of the invited speaker at the annual Malaysian Real Estate Convention (MAREC) 2015-2017, MASPEX Johor & Penang & Sabah 2015 events, Real Estate Investment Malaysia 2015 Conference, Forum Graphics & Digital Expo(FGD) 2011 in Jakarta, International Graphics Art Show(IGAS) 2011 in Tokyo, Digital Innovation Summit 2012 in Manila, HP Solution Architect Seminars 2011 in Singapore among other countless speaking engagements in Malaysia and within the region.
In summary, Bernard has more than 10 years of total experience in the sales management, brand and marketing strategist, regional business development and digital commerce exposure in several disciplines, different culture and environments. He is an analytical thinker and a hands-on manager with strong leadership and people management skills. His further ability to learn and to understand changing market dynamics by translating them to actionable strategy to achieve the desired business objectives and performance.
